Books

A newly released mammoth book is Gert Crum’s – ‘Champagne – The Future Uncorked’. This book contains newly revised and updated maps of all the important vineyard lieux-dits and in depth profiles on many of the top houses and growers. Gert is an accomplished prolific author. Only just released and still difficult to obtain – Amazon UK have it for about 80UK pounds – so with freight to Australia it is close to $200 – but I have a number of copies available for $150.

Michael Edwards in the ‘The Word of Fine Wine Issue 58’ wrote a great review on this new book. Read it here.

And of course we have Adelaide’s Kaaren Palmer’s definitive text book on all things Champagne with much emphasis on ‘style and tasting’. ‘Champagne – A tasting journey’, Winner of the Best in the World Gourmand French Wine book award 2016. You can read great reviews of her book at her new website here. I have some copies in stock at $140.

… an encyclopaedic book loaded with information and defying categorisation. It’s an engrossing and comprehensive book, which took years to research and write. The quality of the production is high, and it’s a beautiful book to regard.Perhaps a hardback rather than soft would have been justified (but no doubt the price would be even higher). I recommend it.
